Cicada?

While Adam and I were having lunch a while back we saw this cool bug hatching from its larvae. Does anyone know what it is?

  1. Thats definitely a cicada. Its not hatching but molting its exoskeleton. The wingless form is called an instar, They live in the ground sans wings for 17 years.
